Judith Sadler
Experience:
Ms. Sadler is a partner with the firm of Sadler & Sykes, L.L.P. She primarily represents employers in labor and employment matters before federal and state courts and administrative agencies. Ms. Sadler’s practice includes all areas of labor and employment law, including traditional management side labor relations matters, employment related business litigation, wage and hour cases and all types of employment litigation. She frequently presents seminars for clients on harassment awareness training in the areas of sexual and racial harassment, wage and hour issues and labor issues. She also occasionally handles plaintiff’s cases involving discrimination claims, contract issues and wage and hour disputes. In addition to handling matters litigation matters before and during trial, Ms. Sadler has a great deal of appellate experience. She argued before the Texas Supreme Court in the seminal case of Desantis v. Wackenhut, which addressed the issue of covenants-not-to-compete in Texas and has handled appellate matters in eight of the twelve United States Courts of Appeals.
Professional Activities and Memberships:
Ms. Sadler is certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Labor and Employment Law. She is a member of the American Bar Association Labor and Employment section where she serves on the Committee for the Developing Labor Law under the National Labor Relations Act. Ms. Sadler is a Chapter Editor for the 2000 Supplement to The Developing Labor Law, which is produced by the Committee for the Developing Labor Law under the National Labor Relations Act. In 1999, she presented a paper entitled Mandatory Arbitration: Recent Developments After Gilmer in the Evolving Areas of Dispute Resolution Through the Use of Mandatory Arbitration Agreements at the ABA Annual Meeting in Atlanta.
Education and Admissions:
A native of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Ms. Sadler is a graduate of Baylor University in Waco, Texas (B.S. 1982) and the University of Kansas School of Law (J.D. 1986). Ms. Sadler is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, Eighth, Ninth and Tenth circuits, as well as all the Texas courts. Ms. Sadler and the firm of Sadler & Sykes, L.L.P., are "AV" rated by Martindale Hubbell which is the highest rating possible.
