- meeting your legal obligations with respect to wage and hour laws, safety and health laws, employee benefits laws
- meeting your legal obligations with respect to disability and employee leave laws
- conducting training seminars
- devising and implementing successful strategies to counter union campaigns, strikes, strike related violence and other strike related issues
- contract negotiations with unions
- defending unfair labor practice charges
- mediating or arbitrating disputes between business partners, with employees or with unions.
Sadler & Sykes will, for a flat fee, spend a day at your business and then write a report identifying the policies and procedures that might result in liability for the company. The fee is based on the number of employees.
Sadler & Sykes will operate as a "general counsel"
for companies that do not have the desire or ability to hire an in-house general counsel.
For a monthly fee, which is based on the size of the company and the extent of
involvement requested by the client, Sadler & Sykes will perform the services that a General Counsel would normally perform, such as:
- providing a sounding board for executives to help them reach decisions that affect the employees or that may result in litigation
- assisting executives in managing a reduction in force
- managing litigation in which other firms have been retained so that the company's executives are not diverted from the business.
Sadler & Sykes also will perform traditional human resources functions such as advising and/or assisting with employee reprimands, investigations, harassment prevention training or terminations.
